TOTAL OF 151 SURVEYS RECEIVED
The survey was discussed by going through each topic from most important to least important as rated by the survey results. Questions were raised as to what these results mean. Where do we as a community want to start to begin change? What can and should we do? And how do we want to do it?
Some points were brought up that needed to be touched on, such as how the city has to handle property clean-ups and abandon/dilapidated buildings. Two people need to file a written complaint and there is a process that must be followed by the city once the complaints are filed. This may clear up some confusion had by community members.
It was mentioned that volunteer committees would be a beneficial thing to bring back to help the city get some stuff done. A priority for the city may be to get a zoning committee back together. This may significantly help with the previous issues discussed as ranked #1 and #2 on the survey. It was indicated that a one mill levy only brings in about 3k, therefore it has been hard to raise money for many projects. And finally, the meeting left off with expressed interest by the community to hold quarterly/frequent town hall meetings.
I hope that this update and summation was helpful to you. Hope to see you at future town hall meetings!
